OSHA extends comment period for C-DAC proposed rule

The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is extending the public comment period for the Cranes and Derricks Proposed Rule until Thursday 22 January. The proposed rule is also known as C-DAC for the consultative process by which it was originally written.

OSHA said it is extending the comment period because of the length of the original Federal Register notice, the comprehensive nature of the proposed rule, and the number of requests for public comment contained within the Notice. The agency will be scheduling a public hearing shortly.

Stakeholders may submit comments in several ways: electronically to www.regulations.gov, faxed to +1 202-693-1648 if short (under 10 pages), or sent by regular mail, messenger, or courier service to the OSHA Docket Office, Docket No. OSHA-2007-0066, U.S. Department of Labor, Room N-2625, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210.

Comments were originally due in by Monday December 8.
