The Pavlodar Machine-Building Plant (PMZ) of Kazakhstan plans to set up a joint venture with the Ukrainian company Zaporozhye Plant of Heavy Crane Building to manufacture heavy overhead cranes, the Novecon news agency reported on 31 July.
PMZ has been making overhead and gantry cranes since 1987. It has also recently begun the mass production of 20t truck cranes. By year-end, it plans to begin making 25t truck cranes for oil companies. It also makes 4 KW wind-powered generators.
