Palfinger reports that it has doubled its sales of truck loader cranes in France in the past year, thanks to the integration of the Palfinger and Guima distribution networks. Guima is the French container handling system manufacturer that Palfinger bought in August 1999.
The marketing of container handling systems via Palfinger’s global sales organisation has boosted Guima’s order intake by almost 60%.
Palfinger, which gained a stock exchange listing last year, saw revenue for the first quarter of 2000 up 42% to E73.5m, or by 26.3% excluding the impact of the Guima acquisition. Group revenue for the year as a whole is forecast to grow by about 20%, to about E290m.
• Palfinger is sponsoring the Austrian national toboggan team for the forthcoming world championship season. Chairman Hubert Palfinger said the company’s R&D department would devote resources to new toboggan runner technology.
