Loader crane manufacturer Palfinger has entered a strategic alliance, aimed at expanding its e-logistics business, with Munich software house Star/trac Supply Chain Solutions GmbH. Star/trac has developed a modular tracking and tracing software product for end-to-end control of goods flows. The partners will cooperate on the development of seamless supply chain control, said Palfinger.
Together with another Palfinger partner, Identec Solutions AG, located in Vorarlberg, Austria, which specialises in transponder based wireless identification technology, Palfinger and Star/trac plan to develop an online freight tracking system. This will give Palfinger customers end-to-end visibility of their entire logistics chain, and enable them to locate goods in transit at all times, Palfinger claimed.
