Pearl-Qatar tower collapse kills four

Four workers have been killed, and three injured, in a tower crane collapse at a building site on The Pearl-Qatar. The Pearl-Qatar is a $2.5bn resort island, being built by United Development Company (UDC) of Qatar. Roger Dagher, chief communication officer for UDC, told Qatar English-language newspaper the Peninsula, “This is a very unfortunate incident. This tower was not UDC-owned or developed but we are investigating with the developer and contractor involved how such an accident could have occurred.”
