Building contractor Hiemstra has placed a new cap on “De Rat” saw-mill in the village of Ulst in the Netherlands using two telescopic cranes – a 100t Liebherr and a 45t Tadano Faun – operated by BKF Cranes, based in Franeker, the Netherlands.
Typically, the wing-construction of a mill is partly taken apart, and then placed on the ground. In this case, the wings were kept high by the 100t crane while the second crane put parts of the cap in place, after which the wing-construction was put back into place. This meant the job could be finished in a single day.
