The operation involved the craning into place of an air-handling unit and chiller for the roof of the building along with a steel-framed plant enclosure. Beard was currently carrying out a £1.68m state-of-the-art refurbishment of the Joseph Kenyon Laboratory on the third floor and an £740k programme of upgrades to the building’s heating and lighting systems.
The new laboratories are due to be completed in September, ready for the beginning of the 2013/14 academic year
