Potain MC 310 K12 and MC 205 B tower cranes are utilised in the construction of new presidential palaces in Nusantara, Indonesia.

The cranes are providing lifting support for both the State Palace (Istana Negara) and the Garuda Palace (Istana Garuda), as part of the initial phase in Indonesia’s broader national development programme.

The equipment began operating on site in February 2023.

These cranes are supplied on a rental basis by PT Potaindo Machinery, which is also delivering on-site service and technical support.

PT Potaindo Machinery’s technician teams and parts provision are supporting operational continuity as construction progresses.

According to Potain, the MC 310 K12 and MC 205 B models were chosen for their ability to offer reliable performance on sites where project timelines are demanding.

Contractors working on the presidential complex have identified the necessity to complete structural work as quickly as possible, highlighting the importance of continuous progress.

Potain regional sales manager Johnny Kuah said: “The construction of Indonesia’s new presidential palaces is a landmark project that demands reliable equipment capable of supporting consistent progress.

“Our Potain MC 310 K12 and MC 205 B tower cranes are well-suited to these requirements, combining lifting performance, reach, and reliability to help contractors maintain productivity on complex projects.”

The MC 310 K12, which has a maximum capacity of 12t, operates at a freestanding height of 52m and is fitted with a 70m jib, allowing it to lift up to 3.2t at the tip.

With a 10t capacity, the MC 205 B stands at a freestanding height of 59.7m, and is equipped with a 60m jib with a 2.4t capacity at the jib end.

The cranes are primarily used to lift steel and other structural assemblies.

Potain has stated that these crane models have since been updated, with the MC 310 K12 and MC 205 B replaced by the MCT 325 L12 and MCT 205 models in its product range.

The presidential palace construction is described as an important symbol of the new capital’s role and ambition.

According to the project’s organisers, it has achieved Zero Accident certification, highlighting the safety measures enforced throughout the construction process.

In July 2026, Potain appointed PT Potaindo Machinery as its official dealer in Indonesia, tasking the company with responsibility for sales, service, and parts support for Potain tower cranes across the country.
