The first MD 310 C K12 was installed in May and the others were installed over the next two consecutive months.

The three 12t capacity MD 310 C K12s are being used to build a seven-story modularly built building, in crescent form, for mixed commercial and residential use.

The MD 310 C K12s will work eight hour days, six days a week.

They will do ground preparation and lift 10t reinforced concrete slabs.

Two Potains will work with hook heights of 36m while the third Potain will work at a height of 46 m. They will use 55m jibs to cover the site.

The project will take three years of work, and expose the cranes to strong costal winds.

Enrico Angiolini, Manitowoc’s sales director for southern Europe, said Potains were chosen for durability:

"Working on this important project for three years in a marine environment demands a lot of these cranes," he says.

"Our Potain brand is known for durable products and we use the latest paint technology to protect every inch of the cranes. The strong winds at the site could also cause problems but we are confident in their control and strength."
