The new 1,000hp Power- Booster is a significant upgrade to the SPMT power packs developed by TII. At Bauma, one of the new units will be shown on a Scheuerle-Kamag K25 H 06 PB. The PowerBooster is able to replace multiple tractor units for transport of large loads.

Mammoet describes how the PowerBooster technology would be used in its Trailer Power Assist (TPA) implementation of the technology. In current configurations, two or four prime movers may be used at the front and rear of the trailers. Each 1,000hp PowerBooster will be able to replace the pulling power of two trucks, simplifying transport over long distances. In the example given, of using eight trucks, seven could be replaced by TPAs, with just one truck used at the front of the transport system.

At the destination, the Power- Boosters can be controlled by remote control in creep mode for maximum maneuverability and positioning. When the job is complete, the TPAs can be towed back by a truck in free wheel mode.

Also in its special transport line, TII will be showing a Scheuerle InterCombi SPE with a EU Stage 4 Z390 PowerPack Unit. The hydrostatically driven and electronically steered transporter offers a variety of steering programmes: all-wheel steering lengthwise and crosswise, diagonal steering lengthwise and crosswise, front-wheel and rear-wheel steering and circle steering with individual vehicles or in a coupling mode. The vehicles are easily electronically coupled with TII’s ‘classic’ SPMTs.

Alongside its special transport range, TII will also be showing innovations in its road transport trailers.

It will be showing trailers from the Euroflex and Eurolight lines tailored for loads under 100t on public roads. The trailers on display will include a new model in the Eurolight drop deck line.

TII will also be showing trailers developed for the USA. The company’s focus here is on simplifying approval procedures for empty runs, combining the requirements for the transportation of oversized loads as well as point loads on an individual vehicle. This, TII says, allows the operator to carry out an unprecedented wide range of transport assignments with just one modular vehicle.

TII will show a Nicolas Tractomas tractor, one of the world’s biggest. The 10m long, 3.5m wide and 4.6m high tractor is, apart from the commercial cab, entirely a result of TII’s special vehicle production. At Bauma, an 8×8 model will be put through its paces.
