PSC Heavy Lift Ltd has officially been renamed Fagioli PSC Ltd. The name change, which took efect on 1 January 2002, is the next step in amalgamating Fagioli’s heavy transport, shipping, project forwarding and logistics operations with PSC’s heavy lifting capabilities.

Fagioli SpA of Italy bought UK-based PSC Heavy Lift from Freyssinet of France in October 1999. The previous year Fagioli had taken a 25% stake in PSC Heavy Lift to formalise an alliance forged through working together.

Fagioli PSC will continue to specialise in heavy lifting but will focus particularly on projects where the joint experience and capabilities of Fagioli and PSC will bring added value to clients, the company said.

Riccardo Tippmann, senior vice president international business of Fagioli SpA and director of Fagioli PSC, said: ‘Both companies have complementary skills in the power, civil, offshore and petro-chemical sectors and through this new company we can provide even more comprehensive services, better value and a single point focus for our customers.’

PSC and Fagioli have already worked together on several turnkey projects around the world. Tippman added: ‘Our group sees this as a time for new approaches and fresh ideas to support our clients and we are therefore pleased to bring the resources of two leading companies in the heavy transport, heavy lifting and project “door-to-door” forwarding, which between them employ more than 350 staff, to advise and assist clients in all fields of activity throughout the power, civil, offshore and petro-chemical sectors worldwide.’

The Fagioli Group has subsidiaries or representative offices in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Tunisia, Turkey, Middle East, India, Korea, Singapore and Japan.
