Italian crane manufacturer Raimondi is to diversify its portfolio by acquiring key lifting businesses from US-based Terex Corporation. These include Terex Tower Cranes, Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, Terex’s self-erecting cranes portfolio, plus Terex’s US-based after-sales and service infrastructure.
“There were several factors that made these specific Terex businesses attractive,” says Luigi Maggioni, group chief executive officer, Raimondi Cranes, in an exclusive comment to Cranes Today. “First, they represent product lines with a strong reputation for reliability and performance.
“Second, these brands bring with them experienced teams, Italian roots, and well-established facilities in both Italy and the United States.
“Third, we saw an opportunity to leverage Terex’s established global footprint, particularly in North America, to accelerate Raimondi’s presence in new markets. These businesses offered a myriad of boons including heritage, expertise, and market access.”
The transaction comes under the umbrella of Arada Industries, which is owned by Arada Group.
“This transformative move, recognised as the most impactful deal in the industry over the past 20 years, marks the most significant acquisition in Raimondi’s history, representing a milestone into our journey to become a full-fledged global lifting conglomerate,” continues Maggioni. “As market leaders in their segments, Terex Tower Cranes, Terex self-erecting cranes, and Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, along with their US-based service hub, will enable Raimondi to take its first major step toward diversification.
“By integrating Terex’s range of tower and rough terrain cranes, we are creating synergies that enhance our ability to deliver a broader range of lifting solutions, paving the way for sustainable, accelerated growth.”
The acquisition will see around 250 employees join Raimondi Group.
