Qatar-based Ramco Group is backing the new-look company, and will take the first 100 cranes manufactured at the Legnano factory for use on its operations in the Middle East.

Raimondi says this will give it the platform to “regain its world position in tower crane manufacture during 2009”. It is also exhibiting at the Intermat show in Paris at the end of April.

In a statement, the company said: “Following the recent demise of Carlo Raimondi after the unfruitful management by SIME in 2006, we are pleased to be able to advise that the production of Raimondi tower cranes has restarted at the factory in Legnano.

“The manufacture of the Raimondi brand is being reorganised under new management with the backing of the Ramco Group.

“Ramco has 30 companies within their organisation, which is based in Qatar. Civil engineering and construction are part of Ramco Group activities, hence their interest in developing the manufacture of tower cranes, which will be available on a worldwide basis.”
