Raimondi has selected a Turkish trade show, Ankomak, for the launch if its latest new crane, the MRT144. Raimondi sold 12 cranes at the Istanbul event.

Ankomak took place in Istanbul on June 6-10. Raimondi used the show to launch its new MRT144, and to show its popular MRT111. The new MRT144 topless tower can lift 1.4t at its maximum jib length of 65m. Its compact upper measures just 3.3m from slewing ring to the highest point of the jib. In standard configurations using 1.5m tower sections, the crane can be erected to a freestanding height under hook of 45.4m; other configurations can allow higher freestanding heights. Fitted with a 45kw/60hp 8t motor with Lebus drum, the crane can be climbed to a height of 390m.

Raimondi said, "This new model is a perfect fit between our MRT111 and MRT180. The MRT144 is offered with a 65m jib and has maximum lifting capacity of 8t or 10t.

"The MRT144 incorporates a number of new features, all the result of Raimondi's constant innovation. One of the main new features is a new 40hp hoist inverter, which enables this crane to lift 8 tons in single reeving adding speed and reliability to the hoist capacity.

"A new gearless system in the hoist motor "AS40-08t-s" was developed by Raimondi. It provides an optimum level of security at all hoisting speeds while maximizing the torque of the engine."

Raimondi sold 12 cranes at the event, including seven of the new model.

Raimondi is represented in Turkey by local construction equipment dealer Akem. Akem has sold over 250 cranes, making it, Raimondi says, a leading supplier of construction equipment in the country. The company sells both locally and to customers in neighbouring countries like Iran and Iraq.

Akem has recently expanded its rental fleet of tower cranes and elevators, to offer an alternative for customers who aren't, in today's difficult economic climate, looking to purchase a new crane.
