Belgian lifting contractor Aertssen Kranen called on Mammoet of the Netherlands to help replace a 30 year old vertical reactor vessel at a refinery in the Port of Antwerp. Mammoet sent a 450t-rated Liebherr LR 1450 crawler with 77m of main boom and 250t of trailing counterweight. The lift was engineered by Aertssen Kranen, which produced a moving 3D computer simulation to show the client how they would avoid colliding with the other reactors and the control room. Aertssen also supplied a Grove GMK 6250 as a tailing crane.
