Penny & Giles has developed handles for its JC300 joystick to replicate the movement of the equipment being operated. The fingertip-controlled ZA and ZB are for use in chest packs and consoles for cranes and lifting equipment.
Both handles use an additional axis of proportional control to allow them to move in the same direction as the equipment that they are controlling. A life expectancy of more than 500,000 operations is claimed.
