SA French’s East African Company will start out offering hydraulic self-erecting tower cranes for rental, “as these units will be the most flexible and easiest to establish in the region”, SA French said. The rental fleet in East Africa will be built up to 10 units with scope to extend it should demand warrant.
“The rationale behind this decision is that no one in East Africa rents tower cranes or any form of access equipment and there is a lot of potential for rental in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, which are our primary target markets at the moment,” said SA French operations director Warwick van Breda.
“Operating such a venture in Africa requires flexibility, in that we are able to provide a big enough range to suit a variety of customers from the major firms to house builders.”
