“The new microcontroller extends the capabilities of the PLUS+1 family of mobile machinery control products introduced by the company in 2004,” said Dan Ricklefs, Product Portfolio Manager, Sauer-Danfoss.The microcontroller was designed with three new features that significantly augment system compatibility, power and control. These features include: 1) four inputs that can be configured to read signals in the 4 to 20 mA range, such as from pressure and temperature sensors, 2) six 6-amp digital outputs to directly control higher power devices, such as starter solenoids and incandescent lamps and 3) 4 MB of on-board flash memory for logging everything from operational data to machine status. Overall, these features provide the designer with more options for differentiating vehicle design. Consistent with other PLUS+1 products, the new 88-pin microcontroller includes a 5 Vdc regulated power supply for sensor circuits, two programmable LEDs to aid in diagnostics, environmentally robust Deutsch connectors and a flexible 9 to 36 Vdc power supply. It also has flexible circuit designs and powerful Digital Signal Processor (DSP)-based control, typical of the PLUS+1 family.As with the entire PLUS+1 line of microcontrollers and input/output devices, the new microcontroller is supported by the GUIDE application programming environment. With this tool set, OEMs can draw from the extensive library of Sauer-Danfoss software modules and graphically build an application to meet their individual needs. www.sauer-danfoss.com
