The ENVI is based on National Crane’s regular 690E truck mounted boom crane, and has the same lifting specifications – a maximum capacity of 18t (20 US tons), a 28m (90ft) four section boom, a 14m two section jib, and a maximum tip height of 44m. National is part of Manitowoc Crane Group. The new crane is currently working near Terrell, Texas, where it is being used by contractor MasTec to install a series of 4.5t concrete power line poles along 25km of road.
Scott Powerline goes green
Scott Powerline and Utility Equipment has purchased a new bio-diesel powered crane, with vegetable oil hydraulic systems. The National Crane ENVI (690EU) is targeted at firms working in environmentally sensitive locations, where the risk of contamination from normal hydraulic systems might make it impossible to use regular cranes.
