The jacket measured 23m x 27m x 85m and weighed nearly 800t. S CS Heavy Lifts Group used their computer controlled synchronised jacking system to calculate that there were eight pieces of 300t jacks, eight pieces of 500t jack, whilst the topside measured 34m x 23m x 13m and weighed nearly 450t.
Explaining the system Robin van der Stigchel, managing director at SCS Heavy Lifts & Transports said: "This system uses feedback from multiple sensors to control the lifting, lowering and positioning of any large, heavy or complex structure regardless of weight distribution, therefore reducing the risk of bending, twisting or tilting."
Wind restrictions meant that SCS’s time frame nearly exceeded the customer’s deadline, however the firm managed to complete the weighing reports one day prior to the deadline.
