Organiser Reed Business Information said in a statement that, although an improvement in business is expected around April, exhibitors and industry does not expect a significant, established upturn until the end of 2010. Additionally, it said 2010 had unexpectedly become a three construction event year as a result of extractive and construction show Hillhead’s postponement from 2009, and Bauma taking place in Germany during April.

SED 2010 was scheduled to take place 18-20 May. Reed Business Information said the year’s break will be spent working on ‘new show plans and initiatives’ for 2011.

“We know that for those of you who already have a commitment to Bauma or Hillhead, a year’s grace from SED will most certainly relieve pressure on your 2010 promotional budgets,” said Tim Porter, head of sales at SED.

SED will return 17-19 May, 2011 at Rockingham Motor Speedway.
