The company said: “With its individually specialized locations in Germany, Sennebogen is focussing thoroughly on the needs existing in multiple machine type production scenarios. The requirements for the quality of the machines are strict, and we fulfil them with our individually sequenced processes set up in our plants and by procuring important key components from renowned suppliers.”

With a total area of 125,000 sq m, the facility is almost three times as large as its Straubing 1 facility, built in 1959, although its shop floor and office space is only slightly bigger. Now the 350 employees of Straubing 2 focuses on design, production, marketing and sales of rope excavators, cranes, material handling machines and harbour cranes. Straubing 1’s 200 employees work in the group headquarters, special base carrier equipment production, and steel construction.

In the 1990s, the company set up two other locations. In 1991, it built a plant in Wackersdorf, Germany with 25,000 sq m of shopfloor and offices. The factory’s 200 employees build material handling machines up to 80t gross weight. In 1996 it built a 22,000 sq m factory in Balatonfuered, Hungary, whose 300 employees work on welding and steel construction, including mechanical finishing.

The company said: “We achieve competitive cost structures through lean processes, our focus on robust and efficient solutions and high-quality steel components and welding constructions from our own plant in Hungary.”

The company has wholly-owned subsidiaries in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA and Dubai, UAE. Over the past few years, Sennebogen has set up a worldwide dealer network.
