Norwegian ship crane builder TTS Marine has won a $16m contract for deck cranes and hacth covers for six ships being built in Portugal.

TTS Marine’s new German subsidiary, TTS-LMG Marine Cranes GmbH, will supply 12 cargo cranes – two for each vessel – each with a 450t lift capacity. Delivery is scheduled before the end of 2006.

The client is Hamburg-based Münchmeyer Petersen Marine GmbH and the ships are being built at the ENVC shipyard in Viano de Castelo, Portugal.

TTS-LMG Marine Cranes was created from the acquisition by TTS Marine last October of Lübecker Maschinenbau Gesellschaft (LMG) of Lübeck, Germany, adding a line of wire-luffing cargo cranes to TTS Marine’s product line.
