Cranes Services has become the first UK company to place an order for a Demag crane with the new Sideways Superlift boom attachment.

The Wakefield-based hire company has ordered an AC 300-1 which is usually rate at 300t, but with Sideways Superlift is reckoned to be more like a 350t lifter. For this reason, Demag is calling it an AC 350 in this configuration.

The six-axle AC 300-1, launched this month at the Bauma fair in Muncih, features a 56m main boom and a 72m luffing jib with an offsettable 24m top section.

Sideways Superlift gives greater support to the boom than conventional Superlift which only acts behind the boom. It offers particularly good capacity increases when lifting at near vertical boom angles (News Feb01).
