The company took delivery of the first of three Liebherr LR 1300 crawler cranes in November, with two more to be delivered by the end of the year.

The 330t cranes fill an important niche in Sims’ equipment line-up, according to Dean Sims, vice president of marketing at Sims Crane.

“The Liebherr 330t cranes nicely fill in the space between our 275t cranes and our 450t cranes. They will be ideal for projects involving highway bridge beams and stadium and hospital construction. We sent the first Liebherr crane out to a job site within a very short time of its arrival,” Sims said.

Sims Crane also is awaiting delivery of a Liebherr 1500-8.1 mobile crane.

The acquisition of the Liebherr cranes is part of a three-year focus on equipment availability that will see Sims Crane invest more than $75m in new equipment.
