Sky Trak has extended its Millenia series of telehandlers with two new models. The 4270 and 4290 models feature low centres of gravity for better balance and a patented frame design that Sky Trak claims maximises strength.
The 4270 has a maximum lift capacity of 3,180kg and the 4290 can lift 4,086kg. Both models have a maximum lift height of 12.9m and a turning radius of 3,734mm, and they are low enough to drive through most doorways, Sky Trak says.
New features on the two models are high or low boom configurations and an integrated drive train from ZF Industries which has been specifically designed for use on telehandlers. The heavy-duty ZF axles have hydraulically actuated inboard wet disc brakes, and steer cylinders which are located above the axles to give greater protection from obstacles on the ground.
The four-speed powershift transmission, also from ZF, is hydraulically modulated for smoother gear shifting.
Both models are fitted with a hydraulic multi-function joystick, something that Sky Trak claims no other telehandler has. Called the Sky Trak Soft Touch, the new system controls all hydraulic functions through the joystick.
The 4270 and 4290 models also feature a new cab design with extra storage compartments and an adjustable suspension seat.
Traditional features of the Millenia series on the new models include a load sensing gear pump to provide precise load control and more power to the drivetrain.
The new models are also fitted with the Stabil-Trak load system which automatically transfers from a three point stance to a four point stance when placing a load.
