Slevarny Trinec director Ivo Zizka said, “The modernised foundry will produce steel castings of medium and smaller weight for the automotive, engineering and electro technical industries.” The new line will raise production at the foundry to 24,000 by 2010, from 16,800t.

Slevarny Trinec exports 60% of its production. Customers include Moravia Steel (the 69% owner of parent TZ), Volvo, Sennebogen and harbour crane manufacturer Kalmar. In 2008, the firm expects to post revenues of CZK1.4bn (EUR53.25m), up from projected revenues of CZK1.2bn (EUR45.65m) this year and CZK1.16bn in 2006 (EUR44.13m). The company said the rise is largely due to the plant modernisation.
