The cab-mounted console of SMIE’s new DLZ342 operator display unit shows load weight, slewing angle, hook height, load moment, trolley radius, rail travelling position, wind speed, reeving and date and time. The unit, designed for a single isolated tower crane, can also be set to prevent access to certain areas. A memory chip records total number of working hours; total accumulated load lifted; analysis of lifting cycles; details of the last ten lifting cycles and the last 2,000 recorded events. A USB port allows users to download records for analysis on a personal computer.
