Exaktime said the PocketClock/GPS software allows mobile employees and crews to clock in and out from dozens of locations each week using their smartphones. Each time punch allows workers to record what type of work they are doing, and also records a GPS fix of where the time punch took place.

This, Exaktime said, allows managers to remotely monitor when workers clock in and out of sites, and see travel times between locations. Geofences around jobsites can also be established to highlight when employees are clocking in and out when they are not at the jobsite. Supervisors can clock in an entire crew in a single action.

PocketClock/GPS also features multimedia tools that allow photos and audio recordings taken on smartphones to be combined with field notes typed into the device.

“Having mobile employees use handwritten timecards costs companies a fortune,” sad Exaktime CEO Tony Pappas. “With this new BlackBerry version of PocketClock/GPS, our customers can give their mobile teams and their managers a great automated timekeeping tool using the smartphone they already own.”
