Sparrows Offshore has appointed Graham Thomson to the new post of director of strategic business development.
Thomson joined Sparrows Offshore in 1988. For the past four years he has been contract manager responsible for Sparrows’ services to key client BP Exploration.
“Graham has impressed clients and colleagues with his commitments to customer satisfaction, people management, health and safety performance and commercial success. These are the principal attributes the company needs as we move into new markets outside the UK North Sea,” said Sparrows managing director, Ken Scott.
Norway, West Africa and the former Soviet Union states are identified as key targets for the development drive to be led by Thomson. Sparrows already has an operating base in Perth spearheading growth in Australia and South East Asia “The crane management and engineering markets outside the UKCS are relatively under-developed thus far,” Thomson said. “With Sparrows’ 25 year track record in delivering outstanding performance and value to clients, the time is right for us to expand into new energy provinces.”
