Tadano Oceania Pty Ltd will provide sales and service support for mobile crane and aerial work platform customers in Oceania, which had previously been handled by independent distributors.
Tadano Oceania is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tadano, is based in Brisbane, Queensland and will commence operations in March. Tadano said it expects to achieve sales of AUD44.7m (USD40m) in the period January to December 2011.
“We decided to set up our own sales and service subsidiary to strengthen our sales and servicing activities ever closer to end users,” said a spokesperson for Tadano.
“[This is] in light of further increase in demand for our products to be expected in the future…due to a number of projects to build mining plants…currently under way in the…region, which is rich in natural resources, against a backdrop of rising costs of such resources.”
James Equiment previously handled the sale of Tadano cranes in Australia. The spokesperson said: “Tadano recognises and appreciates the support that James Equipment has provided to its product range over the past five years.”
