The manufacturer said the development of this model was a response to the market requirements for higher capacity and improved efficiency. The AR-7000N is an evolution of the AR-5500M, which was launched in 1998. Tadano says the dimensions have remained the same, but they have achieved a significant weight reduction and increased capacity through the use of steel of higher tensile strenght. The manufacturer claims that up to 40% improvement in boom performance has been achieved.
The new model is offered in two versions: one with a four section 42.7m boom and another with a six section 63.3m boom.
The AR-7000N with the four-section boom offers 700t lifting capacity with 15.4m of boom at 2.7m radius. With the main boom fully extended, it can lift 157t at 12m radius. Users can connect a 12.5m extension to the tip of the four-section main boom and they can equip the crane with up to 90m of luffing jib.
With the six-section boom the AR-7000N offers a maximum capacity of 300t with 15m boom length at 7m radius. With the full boom extended it can lift up to 66.8t. It can be equipped with up to 35.1m of luffing jib.
The carrier is 16m long, 3m wide and 3.1m high. The maximum speed for the AR-7000N is 62km/h. The new model has a newly-designed carrier and cab and features a new control system as well as a new camera that covers the front right side of the carrrier. The ‘Hello-Net’ telematics system comes as standard for this model.
