Net sales in Japan were down 2.9%, from ¥68.0bn to ¥66.1bn, while the company’s overseas sales fell to ¥53.9bn, a drop of 10.0%.
As in the first half of the fiscal year, the decline was attributable to the mobile crane sector, the remaining products of the group—truck loader cranes, aerial work platforms and others—maintaining stable or increased volumes.
Mobile cranes sales revenue was ¥65bn, down 17.4%. Sales of mobile cranes outside Japan generated ¥42bn.
Truck loader crane revenues in contrast rose 12% to ¥14.4bn and aerial work platforms performed even better, up 14.3% to ¥17.2bn.
Tadano Group’s operating income was ¥10.8bn, ¥3.3bn lower than Q3 2016.
