Tadano Ltd, Japan’s leading truck crane manufacturer and parent company of Germany’s Tadano Faun, expects to report sales of Yen 26.44bn ($215.9m) for the first six months of its current financial year.

This is down 6% from Yen 28.11bn ($229.5m) for the same April to September period in 2001 despite a strong contribution from Faun which had its best ever start to a year in its domestic market, selling 53 all terrains to German customers between January and June, second only to Liebherr.

Tadano’s latest earnings estimate, released on 19 November, also stated that recurring profit is Yen 334m ($2.7m) for the six months to 30 September, and that it made a net loss of Yen 268m ($2.2m) for the period.
