The Pennsylvania-based crane company used two Grove GMK6400 cranes to lift and re-orientate the vessel — it was initially situated north-south, but needed to be placed through a roof hatch aligned east-west.
To accommodate the dual rigging, Maxim Crane Works used a 100USt beam with a centre lug as a swivel to rotate the vessel once it was positioned over the hatch.
The lift was successfully completed in around one day, with Maxim now planning to re-use the approach to lift another vessel at the same facility in January 2016.
