The company is a lifting branch belonging to the Chinese contractor, Shaanxi Petroleum Chemical Engineering and Construction.

Shaanxi is engaged in contract construction of petroleum and chemical engineering projects in its main markets of China and Iran.

Shaanxi Hoisting used a Terex CC 6800 to lift and positioned the furnace at a methanol plant at the Jingbian Energy and Chemical Engineering Industrial Park in Yulin.

The configuration of the crawler used 72m main boom at 24m radius, a superlift mast rigged at 25m radius, along with 80t of central ballast and 160t of superlift counterweight.

The lifting team laid the methanol furnace horizontally to the crawler before they started lifting.

The CC 6800 worked with an 250t auxilliary crane to upend the tail end of the furnace and angle it vertically.

After the furnace was angled vertically, technicians unhooked the support crane leaving the load suspended under the hook of the crawler crane.

The furnace then had to be precisely laid down, so the bolts on its outer casing could be aligned with the bolt holes on the methanol plant’s foundations.

Lifting crew commander of Shaanxi Hoisting, Wang Haiqian, said, "From this point on, our operator needed to work extremely accurately to lower and adjust the load gradually into the required position.

"The CC 6800’s hydraulic precision and IC-1 touch screen control system proved to be a great advantage."

The CC 6800 lifted the load to a height of 40m before slewing its boom towards the inside of the building.

Terex said the job took 30 minutes from the start of the first lifting task.

Haiqian said that there was 45,000t (49,604USt) of heavy lifting to accomplish before the Jingbian Energy project is completed.

The Jingbian Energy project is expected to be finished in July 2013.
