The TC 500, the 40t (50 US ton) crane that Terex is building under licence from Compact Truck, was not ready in time to be shown at Bauma.

The crane was billed to be a star attraction of the Terex stand but Terex Lifting president Fil Filipov said: "The Compact Truck project is moving along very slowly because we have some technical specifications to be developed. We don’t want to rush into the market with a product that is not fully industrialised and fully tested." Filipov said that the launch of the cranes was "probably six to nine months away".

Problems centre around turning the machine form Compact Truck’s low volume production model to an industrialised version fit for Terex assembly lines.

The TC 500 is under development at the Terex Peiner factory in Trier, Germany.
