The 20 cranes tot up to a retail value of more than $15m, with rough terrain cranes ranging in capacity from 55–130t and crawler cranes up to 165t capacity.

Coast cranes plans to rent and sell them to its existing client base.

News of the large mobile crane order bubbles up at the same time as the announcement that Coast Cranes will be Terex’s distributor for the West Coast, a region that includes parts of Canada and Asia-Pacific.

Coast Cranes, which owns 14 facilities serving the West Coast, will distribute all of Terex’s cranes in the US in the states of Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho and Montana.

Distribution will reach North to the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and the Yukon, its network will reach further West to encompass the Pacific nations of Guam and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Essex is positioned to profit from the diverse offerings of their recently acquired Coast Crane and the sale of Terex cranes.

Ron Schad, Essex’s CEO and president, said, “Our new relationship with Terex Cranes presents significant opportunities for both our businesses. The ability to rent Terex cranes through both Coast Crane and Essex Crane will significantly enhance Coast Crane’s opportunities to provide our customers with the broad range of lifting solutions they need. In the future, Essex will look for opportunities to expand its crawler crane fleet with the full line of Terex cranes.”
