The company said it has identified eight counterfeit cranes in the Henan Province of China, and although it is worried by the misuse of its brands and potential damage to its corporate image, the primary concern is with safety.

“Terex believes that these counterfeit cranes pose a safety hazard due to their mix of different design features and unmatched components.”

The warning included a note that buyers must take careful steps when purchasing used cranes in China, such as physical inspections, evaluation of photographs and verification of serial numbers. Buyers should also seek the support of Terex as the original equipment manufacturer, the company said.
