The first deal that Filipov has to complete is the extension of Terex’s licence agreement with Japanese crawler crane manufacturer IHI to enable it to sell Terex-badged IHI crawler cranes in Europe as well as North America.
Filipov said that talks had begun with IHI and he expected Terex to introduce CE marked IHI crawlers to Europe before the end of the year.
In North America the IHI-built cranes badged as The Terex American have helped grow Terex’s share of the US lattice boom crawler market from 2% to more than 10%.
