Terex Lifting has introduced the SK 575 tower crane to replace the old SK 565. The new model, built by Terex-Peiner in Germany, has a maximum lifting capacity of 32t and a maximum jib length of 80m. The SK 575 has a maximum free standing height of 82m and the upper part of the crane can be adapted for use on Peiner TS 213 mast sections.
The main difference between the SK 575 and the old SK 565 is the new jib with nine different jib lengths, every 5m. The crane can lift 4.1t at the end of its 80m jib, making it the most powerful crane in its class, Terex claims.
The SK 575 uses the same hoist winch as its predecessor with a slip ring electric motor and a four speed Flender gearbox.
It is also possible to connect a laptop computer and mobile phone to the crane’s communication port. This allows data to be transferred to the Terex-Peiner factory in Germany for problems to be analysed and solved quickly.
The crane cabin is designed for operator comfort with joysticks integrated into the seat and digital displays to determine the actual weight of the load and other information.
Other features that can be added to the SK 575 include a cabin climate control unit, floodlights for night work and a passenger lift for the operator.
Terex claims to have already taken about 10 orders for the SK 575 and some have already been shipped to the USA.
