Head & Guild Equipment of Texas, USA made use of a long luffing jib to replace air conditioning units at the Brazosport Mall in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Contracted to A1 Air Conditioning, Head & Guild deployed a Krupp 6275 all-terrain crane rigged with 34m of main boom and 57m of luffing jib.
The 2.3t air conditioning units were placed at a 62m load radius on the roof of the mall. For some of the lifts the crane was moved to the south side of the mall while in luffing jib configuration.
Other than barricading the crane set-up site and the load staging area, the mall’s activities were not disrupted, the lifting contractor says.
