Tiong Woon, a Singapore heavy lift, haulage and marine transportation company, has teamed up with heavy handling specialist Fagioli PSC to share expertise and equipment and pursue project work in Asia.

Fagioli PSC, part of the Italian Fagioli Group of companies with a paid-up capital of US$600 million, has a range of strand jacks, power packs and towerlifts. It provides heavy lift services to a wide range of industries including offshore construction, refining and petrochemicals, power generation, civil and structural engineering.

Tiong Woon wants to tap into this experience to help it win more more heavy lift projects in Asia against internationla competitors like Mammoet.

Tiong Woon chairman KH And said that the long term aim of the memorandum of understanding that the two ompanies have signed is to form a joint venture company to offer turnkey packages in heavy lift and heavy transportation.

The companies have already secured a joint project to skid and weigh a 2,800t cantilever structure with a total volume of 42,000 cubic metres being built by a local shipyard for an offshore rig. Tiong Woon is also supplying a Demag CC2600 crawler crane to the yard.
