The top 50 account for 91% of the total crane hire, sales and service sector. “Yet look within these leading players and it is clear that a minority of 11 companies are responsible for this tightening grip,” said senior analyst David Pattison.
In the last four years, these firms’ sales have increased by 47% and their profits have improved by 124%, he said. In comparison, at the other 39 neither sales nor profits have grown.
“These 11 companies are setting themselves apart from the other major players, who look tired by comparison. You don’t pull in financial results like this, over such a length of time, by accident! They are telling us something about the direction of the market, a sort of elite resurgence”.
