The 200,000 sq m Ferrari Experience includes a motor museum, theatre, kart track, dune buggies and the Ferrari driving school experience. The domed, elongated Y-shaped structure will be painted red and adorned with Ferrari’s distinctive black and yellow horse logo. It will form a landmark for passenger’s flying into Abu Dhabi International Airport, and is one of a number of leisure and entertainment developments being built on the Emirate’s Yas Island, alongside an F1 race circuit, a Warner Bros theme park, three golf courses, equestrian centre and polo field, water park, numerous hotels, and 700 shops and restaurants.

The cranes have been specified by main contractor Aldar-Besix Construct JV with jib lengths of 58m or 60m, and hook heights between 28m and 48m. They are all rail-mounted on tracks ranging between 6m and 120m, allowing lifting access to most of the complex.

Construction is well advanced as the development nears its 29-month contract deadline for Abu Dhabi’s first grand prix on 1 November, with much of the steel matrix and supports for the tiled roof already installed. Work is continuing on erecting the steelwork for two rollercoaster rides and other attractions.
