The cranes have been installed on the multi tower residential Area 77 development in Ma On Shan. The project includes six 25-storey towers.

The two Liebherr 280 ECH-16 tower cranes have been erected with hook heights of 53m, with cranes previously restricted to hook heights of 49m.

A further four Liebherr tower cranes are at work on the Area 77 development, including a further Liebherr 280 ECH model and three Liebherr 200 ECH tower cranes. The four additional cranes have been erected with hook heights of 40m due to overlapping on the six towers.

All six cranes are on hire from crane rental firm Shriro Machinery. All six are floor-climbing units with a maximum hook height of 110m.

The three Liebherr 280 ECH models are equipped with 35m-long jibs. Two of the Liebherr 200 ECH tower cranes have 30m-long jibs, while the final 200 ECH is fitted with a 40m-long jib.

The cranes have been installed between the towers and tied every fourth floor above the free-standing height. Each crane will cover the footprint of the tower it is working on.
