Your tasks

In this multifaceted position, you will be in charge of managing and monitoring the transport of heavy equipment and its placement onto foundations during the execution of large-scale international industrial projects. Your objective will be to ensure a smooth, accident-free transport in line with specified deadlines. This includes performing technical route studies in the final destination country as well as planning, elaborating and implementing project- specific concepts for transport and field assembly of heavy equipment. You will perform risk analyses, discuss logistics concerns for heavy equipment with civil engineering and project planning teams as well as monitor transport operations with regard to critical items. Compil- ing tender documents for transport contracts and checking/releasing method statements for heavy load transport operations will also be part of your remit.

Your profile

You possess a degree in mechanical engineering and/or naval architecture or a compar- able qualification backed up with long-standing experience in the planning and execu- tion of large-scale industrial projects, particularly in the field of heavy load transport. You can demonstrate sound knowledge of transport, foreign trade, technical and commercial regulations as well as contract law. Know-how in risk and claim management and sched- ule planning is essential. Apart from experience in team leadership and intercultural com- petence, you possess good negotiation and presentation skills. Moreover, you are up-to- date with relevant IT tools and methods. Good language skills in English and, ideally, German are requested to handle negotiations independently. On a personal level, you are a customer- and quality-oriented, well organized leader with an analytical mind and the ability to make decisions. Availability for international travel is a prerequisite.
