A harness and lanyard may provide excellent fall protection, but only when actually attached to something. Mast climbers, and others working at height, are continually having to detach their lanyards to move around their working area.

Sala claims that the solution is its new twin tailed lanyard. Each of the tails has an attachment hook, allowing the wearer to attach one and detach the other, secured at all times by at least one of the lanyard tails.

Sala designs and manufactures a range of harnesses, lanyards, fall arrest blocks and height safety systems, including what is claimed to be “Europe’s first elasticated safety harness”, the Surefit. Sala says that elasticated webbing in the leg straps offers more freedom of movement and so reduces the temptation to slacken the straps or take it off.
