The new course was developed in conjunction with industry partners and has been introduced as part of the College’s aim to develop a series of courses to help improve the safety of the tower crane sector.

The ‘Introduction to the Management of Tower Cranes’ is intended for those involved with or who are responsible for the management of tower cranes on site. The course is aimed at making sure personnel are aware of current legislation and their responsibilities within this, as well as providing them with the right skills for best practice approach when it comes to managing tower cranes.

Andy Walder, Director of NCC, said: “It is vital that those working with tower cranes are provided with the right training. By introducing this new course we are extending our offering to those working with tower cranes, to help ensure that those in the sector have the right skills and knowledge they need for a safe and successful career in the industry.

“Through developing these courses with industry partners and through our experienced instructors, we aim to provide the industry with high quality training at first class facilities.”

The two day course is aimed towards both those who have received no training and those who require refresher training. All learners who undertake the course will be assessed through documentation navigation exercises.

Earlier in the year the College introduced two courses specifically around the examination and maintenance of tower cranes.
