The new 16-wheel RTGs would, said KCI Konecranes, be able to stack containers in the yard one over five high, “improving the utilisation of existing terminal space and allowing for greater handling capacity”.
The new RTGs will bring Charleston’s fleet of Konecranes RTGs to 41. They have a lifting capacity of 50t, and include sway prevention and horizontal fine positioning systems. All features are electromechanical, with no hydraulics involved.
